Since 1970’s he has been making scrapbooks and now 67 books are completed. Among them, this new #67 is produced by making two books at the same time, which are a large-sized scrapbook for “dOCUMENTA(13)” and one as of a daily activity as ever. The huge counterpart completed in first and became a center object of his installation finally. The gigantic book that has over 400 pages of which size is larger than one tatami (910mm x 1820mm) continued to change, reworked constantly from the start of its production in Uwajima until it set in the installation on site in Kassel.

This book edition captures the last figure of changing “Scrapbook #67″ before it was sent to Kassel from Uwajima.

The massive stack of paper is an amassment of countless collages, inks and paints, which is always under the destructive power of gravity. The book records all the pages untouched, which were distorted, stuck out, shone and heaved by gravity.

Color adjustment of more than 420 pages and laser printing in full color are performed in-house by chiku chiku laboratory. The binding is done with mixing technique of PUR and “EN Binding”. We have also the hardcover edition for Europe customers mainly.
